Talk Travel To Me Pt. 2

Posted on 12 March 2016

How many of y'all have the "over-packing" problem? I am not even going to lie on this one. I totally do! It never fails, I always pack way more than necessary and of course, have major issues hauling it all back home with me! I decided to do some major Pinterest research on how to pack lighter and more efficiently. I am kicking this habit to the curb, and you should to! We got this! :) [caption id="attachment_621" align="alignleft" width="407"]Talk Travel To Me Pt. 2 5 Ways to Get No-Heat Beachy Waves- Julep[/caption] Here is what I found: DO NOT BRING HOT TOOLS. This takes a ton of space in your suitcase and is completely unnecessary. Air dry your hair. If you want waves, braid your hair the night before and sleep on it and be sure to pack a good sea salt spray. Love this one from Bumble and Bumble. Girl, you know you only need one pair of sunglasses. Pack a pair that can match with any outfit and is durable enough for a long day at the beach or a long hike through the mountains! Mix and match your bathing suits. Instead of bringing five or six separate suits with you, bring a few pattern tops and solid bottoms with you. That way, you still have plenty of options and you won't feel like you're wearing the same one during your vacation. We actually had custom suits made by Maderas Beach Company. They're to die for and super trendy! There's three different styles; they're all reversible and interchangeable! Check them out HERE, HERE and HERE! ONLY PACK YOUR MAKEUP ESSENTIALS. Let's face it, you're going to spend most of your time on the beach anyway, so no need for that full coverage foundation. I would stick with a good tinted moisturizer (with SPF) and a lightweight setting powder for your face. Grab your fave mascara and go-to nude lip color, and you're good to go! You want to aim for an effortless, natural look while on vacation.  Roll-up your clothes. By rolling your clothes and tucking them into your suitcase, you're saving so much more space! Now that you have your capsule wardrobe all put together, planning your outfits will be so much easier! Pair a staple with a seasonal piece, roll, and voila! Talk Travel To Me Pt. 2 DON'T PACK YOUR ENTIRE JEWELRY COLLECTION. As tempting as it is, only pick a few of your favorites. Keep in mind, you want to pick things that are light and can match with any outfit that you bring along. I suggest some cute knuckle rings and a gold name plate necklace for the day and a statement necklace for a late dinner overlooking the ocean at night. Talk about the ideal date! ;) If you want to keep your hair out of your eyes, but still want to let your curly tousles hang loose, our headbands are the best!  Same goes with shoes. Pack three pairs: casual sandals, comfy walking sneakers, and a nice pair of wedges/heels. Don't forget to throw in some cheap flip-flops for the washing station and walking on the beach when the sand is too hot to walk on. Vacation is so close, I can taste it! I can practically hear the sea gulls now. Hope these tips help you while you're packing for your getaway. Snap a pic of the inside of your suitcase and share it with us on Instagram!
